Hi, I’m Pug, and I am a character design artist.

I made these mini reference drawings for any future Lion King art I may want to do later on. Feel free to use this as a reference, as well. :)

Can we all just take a moment for how completely awesome this is, CAN WE THOUGH?

I WAS GOING TO PUT THIS IN THE TAGS, BUT HOLY SHIT I HAVE JUST SEEN THE METAPHOR!!
There was a calm moment of “…Wait. Did she just metaphorically pick up masculinity and leave femininity behind in its place?” And I was impressed with that symbolism.
But then the metaphor got better. Because here, Mulan is swapping one for the other. Yet, by the end, when she comes home at the end, her father tucks the flower behind her ear and then her man shows up with the helmet— BECAUSE MULAN IS AWESOME AND KICK ASS AND SHE HAS BOTH FEMININITY AND MASCULINITY AND BEING COMPLETELY ONE OR THE OTHER TOTALLY DOESN’T SUIT HER.

Overlooked lessons from Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame

amuseoffyre:

1. Just because a girl saves you from the bullies and is nice to you does not mean that she is into you.
2. Just because a girl you like actually likes someone else does not mean you should hate her for friendzoning you.
3. Just because a girl dances in front of you and wears provocative clothing does not give you the right to molest her.
4. Just because a girl gives you feelings of sexual desire does not mean you should act on them in ways that some might consider excessive. Such as razing Paris to the ground, for example.
5. Just because you are in a position of power over a girl does not mean you should use said power to force her into a sexual relationship
with you.

So I just need to get this off my chest:
For me David Kawena from Lilo and Stitch is the ultimate Disney prince because he is there for Nani AND Lilo and even Stitch despite everything that’s going on in their lives. They’re going through some tough stuff. Their parents die and all of the sudden Nani has to be a mom to her sister who is socially awkward and depressed and that’s hard enough as it is and then she gets her this ‘dog’ and everything gets harder and even though she can’t return David’s feelings he’s still there for them through everything. Even aliens. He’s amazing. I was watching Lilo and Stitch with my niece the other day and I cried watching David go through it all. He is the perfect guy. Like I just get emotional thinking about him.
Imagine if you had someone like David in your life - male or female. You would feel like a prince/princess even if you were living with next to nothing.
David is the ultimate Disney prince - even though he isn’t a Disney prince. He should be considered one.
Disney rant - over.

Plus he isn’t all over Nani, he helps out when he’s needed but he lets her get on with her thing instead of all this “I have met you once for 30 seconds and now I will not stop until you are mine forever” thing that the other Disney men have going on.
